PropOne Silicone Remover, 200ml (2011)

PropOne Silicone Remover, 200ml is designed to remove old PropOne Clear Coat from propellers and running gear. It can also remove thin silicone coatings.

Brush on to help soften stubborn layers for removal. The formula is free of DCM (dichloromethane) and NMP (N-methylpyrrolidone).

Important: This listing is for Silicone Remover only. PropOne Paint Stripper is a separate product used after Silicone Remover to remove PropOne Primer Coat; it also removes paints, varnishes, and lacquers.

Surface precautions: Do not use on plastic surfaces or resin-impregnated wood fibreboard materials. For plastics and other delicate surfaces, test a small area first to ensure Silicone Remover and Paint Stripper do not affect the underlying substrate.

Application:

1. Remove all marine growth from the surface.
2. Apply Silicone Remover approximately 2 mm thick with a brush. In hot or windy conditions, cover the treated area with cling wrap to help prevent drying.
3. Do not allow the remover to come into contact with water.
4. Leave in contact for 2–3 hours or until softened.
5. Remove with a stiff nylon or wire brush, scrubbing in a circular motion.
6. Wipe off remaining residue with a xylene- or toluene-soaked cloth.
7. If coating remains after scraping, apply a second coat.
8. Once done, proceed with PropOne Paint Stripper.
