Track and route steering

No Drift mode uses GPS position data to counter wind and tide and maintain a straight track over ground on the current course, without manually setting a waypoint or route.

Navigation steering follows a pre-planned route from a compatible Simrad MFD, Simrad ECDIS, or third-party MFD/ECDIS. These functions require appropriate compatible navigation inputs.

Multiple stations, managed command

Command transfer lets the officer on watch allow or deny transfer of autopilot control to a secondary AP70 Mk2 or remote controller. This supports bridge-wing, above-deck, and aft-bridge stations. An open configuration with unrestricted control flow is also available.

System compatibility

The AP70 Mk2 platform supports common rudder and drive types, including water jets, azimuth pods, Voith-Schneider systems, rudders, and outboards. System control options include hydraulic pumps, solenoids, analog current/voltage, and control/handshake signals.
